Bubbler Fountain What Is The Origin Of The Word Bubbler Instead Of Water Fountain?

What is the origin of the word bubbler instead of water fountain? - bubbler fountain

I always thought it was the British origin - from the bubbling noise fountan style, especially older ones do.
